Bees and Other Pollinators

Here are some photos of pollinators I have been taking this Spring in Warren, Vermont.

Green Bee

This is not a bee. It is a type of fly in the genus Diptera. Diptera Flies play an important role in Pollination too. Note that it only has two wings. Bees have four. Diptera are the true flies and ancient group and probably were the first pollinators of early flowers.

Sometimes more than one try to come out of their ground hives!

Three at a time here!

Hope you enjoyed the photos.  I know I have not been posting as much, but I now have a new camera!  Love to all and please always be kind!
