Black Carpenter Ants Swarming With The Queens

After the rainstorm today on the farm I went out to check the blueberry plants I potted this month.  They looked good, and were glad of the rain. On the way back to the house I noticed a swarm of ants in the spruce tree.  I have been taking photos of the hole in this tree for a few years now and video sometimes.  Birds have nested in it, ants lived in it and have infested this tree.  The sap flows freely and is useful also.  I like spruce gum!

White Admiral Butterfiles In The Road

These are White Admiral Butterflies that were on a road near my home. The rad was right by a small brook and in this video it is like the butterflies are dancing to the music of the brook.  Doggie and I had a great time filming this. We were in the shade, by the side of a beautiful forest road.

At The Brook With Dingo Doggie

It was so hot out yesterday that Doggie and I took some time off to go to the brook to cool off.  Doggie was on guard most of the time though, looking up the brook.  Later we found out that there is an injured black bear in the area. I wonder if he might have smelled it.

Slow Green Bees Bee Coming In For A Landing!

Here is another Green Bee Video! Slow motion of a Green Bee landing on the hive and going in.  I like these guys a lot, and they seem used to me filming them and taking photos...  Love to ALL!

Green Bees X 8

This is a ground hive of Green Bees. They are also known as sweat bees.  I sped the video up X8.  Green Bees are vital to our survival as other bees and pollinators are. Save the bees!

Bees and Other Pollinators

Here are some photos of pollinators I have been taking this Spring in Warren, Vermont.

Green Bee

This is not a bee. It is a type of fly in the genus Diptera. Diptera Flies play an important role in Pollination too. Note that it only has two wings. Bees have four. Diptera are the true flies and ancient group and probably were the first pollinators of early flowers.

Hope you enjoyed the photos.  I know I have not been posting as much, but I now have a new camera!  Love to all and please always be kind!

American Dingo Doggie Goes Fishing In The Brook In Vermont

Doggie and I spent the morning at the brook. The weather is getting much better and Spring flowers are coming up. Here is a photo montage of Doggie fishing in the brook. He has not caught one yet, but I bet he will before the end of the Summer.  Doggie is an American Dingo. They are also known as Carolina Dogs.  He has been trained as a PTSD Mobility dog for my use. We are going through some retraining now, due to an accident that happened at Petco with a groomer.  Doggie has a lot of fun in the woods and fields here in Vermont and that is where we spend most of our time.
